The 11th SANORD Annual Scientific Conference was hosted by the University of Jyväskylä, Finland on 15-17 August 2018.
The theme was Academic Citizenship: Recognition, Resilience or Resistance? In many countries, providers of education have been criticised for losing their civic missions and connection with the communities they are supposed to serve. Is this a just argument? The aim of the conference was to discuss the various interpretations of academic citizenship and the ways educational institutions can engage with communities.
