Applications to NRF must be approved on their online system by Dr Niresh Bhagwandin who is the SAMRC’s NRF Designated Authority (DA).
Please note that the deadline date below is the date by which the DA must approve the applications. It would be appreciated if your applications are submitted at least 3 business days before the DA cut off date. Also remember to submit your applications to the Pre-Award Office for budget review before submission to NRF.

The purpose of this call is to support the mobility of researchers between the two countries. Funding will be available for a maximum of two years for 2-year collaborative research projects jointly developed and completed by researchers on both sides. Funds requested from NRF should not exceed R500,000 per project for research activities commencing in 2022.
