Haofeng Sun, currently is the Co-Director for the Confucius Institute for Chinese Medicine at the University of the Western Cape (UWC).

He is an associate professor and master’s supervisor at the College of International Culture and Social Development, Zhejiang Normal University.

He holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Xiamen University. He has been engaged in sociolinguistic research for over 15 years, leading multiple research projects funded by China’s National Social Science Fund and the National Language Commission’s Research Fund, and has published nearly 20 academic papers.

He also has rich experience in educational administration, having worked for 16 months in the Department of Language Management under China’s Ministry of Education.
