UNAI Webinar – Advancing the SDGs: The Role of Science
We at the United Nations Academic Impact, an initiative that aligns institutions of higher education with the goals and principles of the UN, are organizing a webinar that will take place on Wednesday, 10 November 2021 (World Science Day for Peace and Development), from 9:30am to 11:30am New York time on Advancing the SDGs: The Role of Science.
The idea is to reflect on the challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and what solutions science can provide to address such challenges, including those impacting the achievement or maintenance of peace. The webinar also aims to examine the critical relevance of scientific knowledge and information, its connections with international diplomacy, and the need to foster a more robust global academic and scientific cooperation.
Experts will join us from UNESCO, CERN, the International Science Council, NASA, the Max Planck Society, the Smithsonian Institution, and the University of Bergen. Furthermore, we will have as a keynote speaker, HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan of Jordan, UNESCO Special Envoy for Science for Peace.
