Chinese Consul Visit

Consul General of China, Jin Ling, visited the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in May 2019.

UWC’s Rector and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tyrone Pretorius, was very pleased to welcome the Consul General to discuss China-South Africa relations. The University has worked with China for many years. UWC’s UNESCO Chair of Hydrogeology, Professor Yongsin Xu, has been with the institution since the early 2000s. The University boasts one of the largest cohorts of Chinese students enrolled full-time, amongst South African universities.
