Six decades-long it’s been home to ground breakers,

It’s the home of forward-thinking higher learning,

afro-centric pride & a story still unfurling,

independent thought that sparks innovation,

mindful, global citizens & their perpetual liberation.

Today, it’s my home, my springboard, my zone.

like iron sharpening iron, here,

my potential’s being mined as my mind is refined,
