University of Madeira
Before the University of Madeira, some teaching establishments emerged in Madeira throughout the 20th century: Instituto Universitário da Madeira, Higher Institute of Plastic Arts of Madeira and Conservatory of Music of Madeira. In 1977 the Higher Institute of Plastic Arts of Madeira appears, later integrated in the University of Madeira.
